WINTER BASKETBALL SEASON 2023/2024
REGISTRATION is CLOSED.

Helpful League Information to prepare you to register.

We offer two different leagues. You will pick one when you register:

(1) DEVELOPMENTAL League (D-League): K-9^th for boys; K-8^th for girls. Team placement is based on grade level and all players receive equal playing time. All practices/games are played at Solanco gyms. Season runs from mid Nov. to the first week of March. Players DO NOT tryout for D-League teams.

Participants in grades 7-9th can play for both SYB and the Solanco Jr. High teams. SYB registration will remain open ONE day after Jr High tryouts are complete. Contact your middle school office for information about the Jr High season and tryout times/dates.

(2) SELECT League: Only for interested boys & girls in 4^th, 5^th and 6^th grade. You must attend try outs and be selected for the team. Youth not selected will be placed on a D-League team. The SELECT teams participate in the competitive Lancaster Youth League and play against other schools in the area. There is limited/local travel. See HOME tab for tryout information.

LEAGUE FEES for the 2023/24 season:

D-League PeeWee Grades K-1 $40 per player

D-League Division 1 Boys Grades 2-3 $60 per player

D- League Division 1 Girls Grades 2-4 $60 per player

D-League Boys D2 & D3 Grades 4-9 $80 per player

D-League Girls D2 Grades 5-8 $80 per player

SELECT League Boys & Girls Grades 5-6 $130 per player

Maximum per family $160 ($250 if family includes a Select Team player)

Conduct Waiver: By selecting I agree, you acknowledge you have read and will follow all policy, procedures, code of conduct of SYB and the Solanco School District. You are responsible for not only your conduct but ALL spectators who attend for your player. If you do something inappropriate, like yell at a player, ref, coach or other spectator you can be removed from all SYB activities with no warning. You understand that SYB has a ZERO tolerance policy for parent/player/spectator/coach misconduct. You fully and completely understand that YOU WILL BE REMOVED with no further warning. This is considered the first warning. Whoever is selecting "I agree" is responsible for reading this policy to spouses, friends, family members or any other person you invite to an activity.

Health Wavier: By selecting I agree, your player, parent/guardian and all spectators agree to follow SYB's health related protocols and follow all requirements outlined by the league. We use the Solanco School District facilities and agree to follow their guidelines applicable to the use of gyms and space for our league.

Legal Wavier: I hereby certify that my child is in normal health and capable of safe participation in Solanco Youth Basketball (SYB). I assume all risks and hazards incidental to participation in SYB. I specifically waive, give up, indemnify, hold harmless and release SYB organization, its officers and volunteers from liability for and claim for damages for which I or my participant may have relating to injuries or illnesses while participating in SYB. In the event of an emergency in which my participant may require medical care, I authorize SYB organization and volunteers, in its best judgment to obtain whatever medical treatment deemed necessary and appropriate. I allow my child's picture to be taken and display on SYB related materials and newspaper publications.

What is going on with COVID?

We use the facilities of the Solanco School District and must follow their requirements. At this time, we expect no unique restrictions for the season.

Will spectators be allowed in the gyms?

At this time, all spectators are welcome in the gym. If the SYB code of conduct is not followed, spectators will be asked to leave. If problems grow, SYB may limit gym to only players and coaches. We want to create a positive environment.
